Good Friday

Good Friday to you from London! This Easter weekend looks completely different than any Easter we have ever experienced. We will use this blog post to update on the GOOD things going on with Redeemer and the GOOD things going on with our family.

The Redeemer Sessions / Questioning Easter

We are hosting 3 Redeemer Sessions for Easter weekend: Good Friday, Saturday & Easter Sunday. All 3 sessions will be at 3pm GMT on RedeemerQP.online.church. Simply click the link to join in! Our first Session is coming up at the top of the hour - join us!

We are so grateful for the technology that is allowing us to record these session in our sitting room and then broadcast them online. This platform is allowing us to connect with new people here in the UK and around the world. It is also so encouraging to our family to “see” family and friends join us for the Sessions from the States. Thank you for loving and supporting our family during such a surreal time!! If you like to support the GOOD work Redeemer QP is doing in London you can give here...

We are also continuing our weekly Tuesday night chats and our Wednesday night Community Groups on Zoom. These times for community are a highlight of our week It really gives a sense of normalcy to go through familiar rhythms with familiar faces. We have also launched a Children’s time with is happening on Tuesday afternoons. We are praying for gospel fruit and for God’s church to grow.

Family Updates

The best way to describe the 3 weeks we have all been home all the time is good and hard. It is so good because we are all at home all the time, but it is also hard because we are all at home all the time. Our back garden has been such a gift during this isolation session! The weather in London has been lovely this week and we have tried our best to be outside as much a possible.

Perry and Shepherd are on their Easter term break right now. We are still doing some school work, just to help at structure to the day. They have really enjoyed slower mornings in their pjs and having a few slumber parties this week. Our house is very close to our beautiful neighbourhood park. We try to make it to the park every day to walk a few laps. Yesterday we even saw the policeman on horseback patrolling the park. We are praying that Queen’s Park is allowed to stay open.

Our favourite GOOD thing from this past week is probably our distance dance party. Our neighbours organised a dance party last Saturday for our street. We all danced outside (keeping our distance of course), laughed and smiled.

Some more GOOD things are: farm fresh groceries delivered to our front door, glass milk bottles, lots of puzzles, Monopoloy Deal (please order this game I for your family!), good health, fresh flowers and sunshine.

We are hope that you and your family are doing okay during this very unique Spring. Ww that you savour this slower Easter weekend and really reflect on the beautiful gift we have been given. Because of Jesus death does not have the final say, it has been defeated!!

Thank you for being on this journey with us. Happy Easter to you.

‘I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me – just as the Father knows me and I know the Father – and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life – only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.’

John 10:14-18
