Without a doubt, Perry's baptism has been the highlight of our year.

Perry put her faith in Jesus in March and Thomas baptised her in October at Redeemer. Her story still warms our hearts and brings tears to our eyes.

As followers of Jesus, we believe baptism is the outward sign that we are now united with Jesus Christ. The old self is buried with Christ and the new self is resurrected in Jesus Christ. This means the life we live we live by faith in Jesus Christ who loved us, lived for us, and died for us.
Perry courageously shared her story of how she came to understand Jesus and trust in him.
The water represents a grave where this is enacted out. We are symbollicaly immersed beneath the water and then raised up out of the water symbolic of the spiritual resurection we've already recieved in Jesus and pointing ahead to the resurrection to eternal glory in the future.

I enjoyed reading about Perry’s baptism and the way the post captures such a meaningful family moment. It reminded me of attending a similar celebration for a relative where everyone gathered to share the day together. During that same busy semester I was also trying to finish a personal reflection paper and even searched for an assignment proofreading service to check my work. Moments like these show how special milestones bring people closer.
